Required trainings

Volunteer Orientation

With this online orientation course, volunteers learn the basics on how to succeed in their role. From policies to procedures, general 4-H info and tools. 

Shooting Sports

For those interested in becoming a shooting sports leader. To become certified, volunteers need to be enrolled as a leader in their county and complete all online trainings.

Animal Quality Assurance 

To make sure all animals are treated ethically, 4-H requires members to first become certified if they want to enroll in an animal project.

Horse Safety Training

When participating in horse projects or events, 4-H members must take helmet education first. This can either be through a workshop or watching an online training video.

4-H Incident Report Form

If an incident or accident occurs. Adult volunteers and agents must complete a 4-H incident report form within 24 hours of the incident. If unsure about whether to complete the report, contact your local MSU Extension agent. Fill out the 4-H Incident Report Form.

 

Before participating in events, it's recommended for 4-H members and volunteers to be insured. The fact sheet provides more details such as maximum benefits, special features and what is covered and not covered.
