Discussion: Classroom Viewbook Website

  1. The Classroom Viewbook Website will catalogue the different types of classrooms at MSU for the benefit of instructors
  2. The Classroom Viewbook will help improve faculty confidence in the use of non-traditional classroom layouts
  3. The first classrooms chosen to showcase are Gains 101 and Reid 332 and faculty were contacted to provide feedback on these rooms
  4. The faculty feedback will help guide the development of resources and trainings that will work in conjunction with the Classroom Viewbook to assist faculty

Discussion: 2021 Dynamic Classroom Priority List

  1. The Classroom Committee has started evaluating the goals of this list
  2. Committee discussed the availability of funding for these future classroom renovations
  3. Classroom Committee discussed the different places classroom information is stored, such as FM Systems, Astra, Excel sheets
    1. Committee speculated on how best to use these resources to create the dynamic list

Discussion: Funding for Future Classroom Upgrades

  1. Committee discussed the need to acquire funding for classroom upgrades in Summer 2022
    1. Action Item: Courtney Johnson to review the procedure for the funding request
  2. IT plans to emphasize the new Romney Hall classrooms for Summer 2021 upgrades

  1. Considerations as MSU further adopts Microsoft products during the transition away from Box: privacy, potential future access to the public, accessibility, file organization, rules of engagement
  2. A suggestion was made to change the meeting platform to Teams to further engage with the Microsoft platform
  3. Action Item: Determine the approach the Classroom Committee would like to take for engagement with the platform
