Technology in Wilson Hall

  1. Colin Smith presented a recap of technology installed in March 2020 to allow for remote class attendance in Wilson Hall
  2. This winter break, IT plans to install a second room camera in Wilson 128, and possibly an additional camera in another room in Wilson (dependent on funding)
  3. IT is looking into deploying a back-end access to the classroom technology which may provide an opportunity to gather data on use

Funding Allocation Model

  1. Madison Graff, Planner, presented a high-level overview of the Capital Planning Process
  2. Capital Planning aligns project priorities with the MSU Strategic Plan, promotes efficiency, reduces risk and identifies opportunities for collaboration and innovation
  3. The Capital Planning Workgroup is a new group of constituents seeking to coordinate on long-term planning
    1. The group collects data on facilities conditions to ultimately secure funding for needed capital projects
  4. MSU has defined two types of capital project types: Strategic Capital Improvement Projects and Traditional Campus Projects
  5. A Capital Project is not maintenance, equipment purchases, or projects typically under $50,000
